BUYSE’S BAKERY

A European Style Bakery

Our Story

Where there’s a whisk, there’s a way!

Buyse’s Bakery is a cottage food bakery in Aurora, CO. Inspired by family tradition, and thanks to the Colorado Cottage Foods Act, we began serving up our tasty treats in 2020. Our menu is inspired by the European Style bakeries in the midwest.

Buyse’s Bakery is owned and operated by Samantha Sands. Samantha’s Belgian and Polish family heritage filled her childhood (and her belly) with tasty traditional treats. After moving to Colorado, she longed for the traditional European bakeries of Detroit and began baking eclairs, butter cookies and baguettes from her home. After hearing for many years, “You should open a bakery,” she took a leap of faith and flour, and launched Buyse’s Bakery!

Baking is in Samantha’s blood! Her great-great-grandmother, Flavie Buyse, and later her great-grandfather, Robert Buyse, owned Buyse’s Bakery in Detroit for almost 70 years. And now, almost 50 years after it’s closing, the family bakery is open again in Colorado! Many of our recipes, including Lukken and Buyse’s Buttercream, are Robert’s personal recipes.

All of our baked goods and tasty treats are baked fresh for you in our home kitchen. We ask for a minimum of 48 hours for your orders. And you can order months in advance! By request with advanced notice, many of our items can be made gluten-free or dairy-free to accommodate specialized diets. We offer bulk discounts for large orders for weddings and celebrations (or if you have a lot of friends you want to share with). We have many delicious goodies here on our website, and also on our Facebook and Instagram pages. But if you don’t see what you want- just ask! We are always happy to make new things and try new recipes. Orders can be picked up in Aurora, or delivered in the metro Denver area (a delivery fee may apply).
